This is the South Dakota affiliate of Kansas Great Plains Trust Company. Firm pages say the 2011 charter exists so clients can use South Dakota dynasty and self-settled asset-protection statutes, with GPSD as trustee, co-trustee, or successor. Investment management is disclosed for the Kansas company through Kornitzer Capital Management. Do not collapse the two entities. The July 2026 activity report still showed a pending Overland Park, Kansas trust-service office. This page omits the undated Kansas marketing AUM figure.
What to verify next
Name the South Dakota company — Great Plains Trust Company of South Dakota, credential TC.059-2 — not the Kansas charter on a South Dakota instrument. Confirm whether the appointment is directed, full trustee, or co-trustee, and whether KCM or another advisor will actually manage investments. The Overland Park trust-service office was still pending on the July 2026 activity report; ask which office will administer. The About page publishes an undated “$4.7 Billion” fiduciary-assets figure for the Kansas firm — omitted here. Ask for a current fee schedule; do not invent fees.
